Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 15, 2025
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Journē Seven (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from vegansocialtribe.com (the “Site”). It also describes your rights regarding your personal data and how you can exercise those rights. By using our Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from or about our customers and website visitors, including:
- Personal Information You Provide: When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through our Site, or when you create an optional account, we collect information you voluntarily provide. This may include your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information (such as credit card details). If you contact us for support or communicate with us (via email or contact forms), we may also collect the information you provide during that interaction (such as your inquiry details or feedback).
- Automatically Collected Information: Like many websites, we automatically collect certain data about your device and browsing actions when you visit our Site. This includes your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring website, and information about how you navigate through our Site (such as page views, clicks, and time spent on pages). We collect this information using technologies such as cookies, log files, and analytics tools. (See Cookies and Tracking Technologies below for more details.)
- Order Information: If you place an order, in addition to the personal info above, we record details of the products ordered, date and time of order, order number, and transaction amount. We also track the status of your order (fulfilled, shipped, delivered, etc.).
We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or biometric data) as part of our e-commerce transactions. Please refrain from submitting such sensitive information on our Site.
We also do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age (see Children’s Privacy below).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for legitimate business purposes, including:
- To Process and Fulfill Orders: We use your personal information to process transactions and provide you with the products you purchase. This includes using your information to manufacture your items (through our print-on-demand partner), arrange shipping, and communicate order statuses. For example, we’ll use the shipping address you give us to deliver the product, and your email to send order confirmations, receipts, and tracking information.
- To Communicate with You: We may contact you via email or other means in order to provide customer support, notify you of updates regarding your order, or respond to your inquiries. We might also send you follow-up emails after a purchase to ensure satisfaction or to request feedback.
- To Improve Our Services and Website: We analyze how users navigate our Site to improve its design, layout, and functionality. Information about your browsing (pages visited, interactions, etc.) helps us understand what is working well and what might need improvement. This usage data may also help us troubleshoot technical issues and ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
- Personalization: To enhance your experience, we may use your browsing or purchase history to personalize the content you see on our Site. For example, we might show you products similar to those you’ve viewed or recommend designs that might interest you.
- Marketing and Promotions (Opt-In Only): We will not automatically add you to marketing lists without your consent. If you choose to opt in (for example, by subscribing to our newsletter or checking a box at checkout to receive promotional emails), we will use your email address to send you updates about new products, special offers, or other news about Journē Seven. We adhere to an explicit opt-in policy for marketing communications in line with best practices and legal requirements. You can unsubscribe from these marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or by contacting us. (Transactional emails related to your orders, however, will be sent regardless of marketing preference, as they are necessary for purchase confirmation, shipping updates, etc.)
- To Prevent Fraud and Comply with Legal Obligations: We may use personal and device information to screen for potential fraud or security issues (for example, to block suspicious logins or fraudulent transactions). We also use data as needed to comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as maintaining records for tax purposes or responding to lawful requests by government authorities.
We will never sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or profit. Any usage of your data is solely to serve you and operate our business, as described above.
3. How We Share Your Information (Third-Party Service Providers)
Journē Seven does not sell your personal information to third parties. However, we do share certain information with trusted third-party service providers and partners who assist us in operating our Site and fulfilling your orders, solely for the purposes described in this policy. Key instances of data sharing include:
- Printful (Fulfillment Partner): We partner with Printful Inc. to produce and ship the merchandise you order. When you place an order, we must share certain information with Printful to enable them to fulfill it. This information includes the product details (what you ordered), your name and shipping address, and in some cases your phone number or email (if required for shipping notifications). Printful uses this information only to fulfill your order and will handle your data in accordance with their privacy policy. We encourage you to review our vendor’s Privacy Policy for more details on their data practices, but note that Printful acts as our service provider (processor) in this contex. We do not share any info with Printful beyond what is necessary for order fulfillment.
- Payment Processors: We use third-party payment processors (e.g., WooCommerce Payments (WooPay), which may be powered by Stripe) to securely process your payment information. When you enter your credit card or payment details at checkout, that information is transmitted directly to the payment processor over encrypted connections; it is not stored on our servers. The payment processor will provide us with limited information such as a confirmation of payment, the type of card used (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), and possibly a tokenized reference for the transaction. These processors are PCI-DSS compliant and authorized to handle your payment data. Your payment information is processed subject to the payment processor’s privacy policy. (For example, transactions via Woo Pay are subject to WooCommerce/Automattic’s terms and privacy.) We share only the necessary data with the payment provider and require them to protect your information.
- Website Platform and Hosting: Our website runs on WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin. Our web hosting provider and platform may technically have access to data transmitted through the Site (e.g., data stored in our website database or logs) in the course of providing hosting and maintenance services. We use reputable hosting services that employ security measures. They are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than supporting our website’s functionality.
- Email and Communication Tools: If we use an email service (for example, Mailchimp, SendGrid, or similar) to send newsletters or order confirmations, your email and name might be stored in their systems solely for the purpose of sending communications. They act as our data processors in that regard. Similarly, if you chat with us through a support widget or fill a contact form, those interactions might be handled by third-party plugins or services that forward the info to us.
- Analytics: We may use third-party analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) to understand how users engage with our Site. These services use cookies or similar technologies to collect non-identifiable information about Site usage (e.g., page visits, traffic sources). This helps us analyze website traffic and improve our services. Google Analytics may collect your IP address, but we have configured it, where possible, to anonymize IP (masking certain digits) to protect your privacy. Analytics data is aggregated and does not directly identify individual users. Nonetheless, if you wish to opt out of Google Analytics, Google provides a browser add-on for this purpose. (See Cookies section below for how to control analytics cookies.)
- Shipping Carriers: In order to deliver your orders, we share necessary details with shipping carriers (e.g., USPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) via our vendor’s shipping process. This includes your name, address, and in some cases phone number or email (to provide tracking updates). This information is on the shipping label and electronic manifest. Carriers use this data to transport and deliver your package and may send tracking notifications if applicable.
- Legal and Safety Reasons: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a subpoena or court order). We may also share information if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend our rights or property, (iii) prevent fraud, investigate possible wrongdoing, or (iv) protect the personal safety of users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the unlikely event that Journē Seven undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure that your data remains protected and subject to terms consistent with this Privacy Policy, and we will notify you of any changes to data handling.
We contractually require that our service providers use your information only for the purposes of providing services to us and that they implement adequate privacy and security measures. For example, when we share data with Printful or our payment processor, it is under agreements that restrict how they can use the data, aligning with the concept of service providers under laws like (they are not allowed to sell or use the data for other purposes). Your personal information is never shared with third parties for their independent marketing (you won’t find us selling your email to spammers or anything of that sort).
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
What are cookies? Cookies are small text files that websites store on your browser or device to help the site function or to track information about your usage. We use cookies and similar technologies (like pixel tags or local storage) for several reasons:
- Site Functionality: Some cookies are essential for the Site to operate properly, such as keeping track of your shopping cart contents, remembering if you are logged in, or enabling you to navigate between pages efficiently. For instance, if you add items to your cart and then continue browsing, cookies allow your cart to “remember” those items when you go to checkout.
- Preference and Personalization: We may use cookies to remember your preferences (e.g., your preferred currency or language if we support multiple, or items you left in your cart as a returning customer). This can provide a smoother experience on repeat visits, giving you a more personalized and convenient interaction.
- Analytics and Performance: As mentioned, we use analytics tools (like Google Analytics) that set cookies to collect information about website traffic and user behavior. These cookies help us understand which pages are most visited, how users find our Site, and how they move through it. We use this data to make informed decisions on improving content, layout, and overall user experience. The information collected is typically aggregated and not used to identify you individually.
- Advertising (Limited): Journē Seven currently does not host third-party ads on our Site, nor do we engage in extensive advertising tracking. We do not use cookies for third-party targeted advertising on our Site. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and obtain any necessary consents. (However, if you clicked an ad for Journē Seven on another platform, that platform might have its own tracking. For example, Facebook or Google Ads might use cookies to note that you came to our Site via an ad. Any such tracking is controlled by the third-party and subject to their privacy policies.)
Cookie Consent: When you first visit our Site, you may see a banner or notice about cookies. By continuing to use the Site, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy. In jurisdictions where explicit cookie consent is required for certain cookies, we will implement such measures accordingly.
Your Choices: You have the ability to control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set. Please note that if you disable or delete cookies, certain features of our Site (especially the shopping cart and checkout process) may not function properly. For example, the Site may not remember the items you added to your cart, or you might have to re-enter information that would have otherwise been retained.
If you want to opt out of analytics cookies specifically, Google provides an opt-out mechanism here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Additionally, some browsers have “Do Not Track” signals; however, there is currently no industry standard for DNT, so our Site may not respond to those signals. We instead offer the opt-out options described.
We do not use technologies like cookies to harvest additional personal data beyond what is stated. Cookies and tracking are utilized in line with normal e-commerce operations and the goal of providing you a better, more efficient shopping experience.
5. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including as needed to provide you with services, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.
- Order Information: We retain order and transaction information in our records unless and until you request that we delete it. Keeping past order information allows us to provide better customer service (for example, faster returns or reference to your past purchases) and is often required for our internal accounting, tax compliance, and warranty/return handling. If you request deletion of your data, we will delete or anonymize order information to the extent feasible, except to the extent we are required to keep it (e.g., for financial record-keeping or legal reasons).
- Account Information: If you create an account, we will retain your account data while your account is active. You can edit or delete certain information by logging into your account profile. If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us. Note that we may still retain transactional records of purchases linked to that account for legal and operational reasons, but we will dissociate them from your account credentials.
- Communication Data: If you contact us, we may keep records of our correspondence (including any email addresses or transcripts) for a certain period, mainly to reference past communications if you contact us again, or for training and quality assurance for our team.
- Analytics Data: Analytics and cookie data is typically retained as per the third-party provider’s policies. For instance, Google Analytics retains non-identifiable user-level data for a set period (which can be configured; often 14 months by default). We use aggregated analytics for trend analysis over time.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymize it. If deletion or anonymization is not feasible (for example, because your personal information is stored in backup archives), then we will securely store the information and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
6. How We Protect Your Information (Data Security)
We are committed to safeguarding your personal information. Journē Seven implements commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include physical, administrative, and technical safeguards such as:
- Encryption of sensitive data. For instance, our Site employs HTTPS (SSL/TLS) encryption for all pages, which means information you submit (like payment details or account info) is encrypted in transit between your browser and our server.
- Secure payment processing. As noted, financial information is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors. Our Site itself does not store your credit card numbers or CVV codes.
- Restricted access to personal data. Internally, personal information is accessible only to those who need it to perform their duties (for example, our support team accessing order details to assist you). Our staff and contractors are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Regular software updates and maintenance to address security vulnerabilities in our website platform or plugins. We keep our systems updated and use security plugins or firewalls to help protect against threats.
- Monitoring for potential security breaches and having protocols in place to respond if an incident is suspected.
Despite all efforts, please understand that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. For example, email communications may not be secure, so we advise not sending sensitive information (like credit card numbers or passwords) via email. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and appropriate authorities as required by law.
You also play a role in protecting your information. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for accessing certain parts of the Site (like an account), you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Please choose a strong password and do not share it with anyone. If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account or information, contact us immediately.
7. International Users and Data Transfers
Journē Seven is based in the United States and our website is operated from the U.S. If you are visiting our Site or purchasing from a location outside the United States, be aware that your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States (and possibly other countries where our service providers are located, such as where Printful has fulfillment facilities). The data protection laws of these countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
However, we take steps to ensure that your privacy is protected consistent with this policy no matter where your data is processed. For example, when we transfer personal data from customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom to the U.S. or other countries, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other permitted data transfer frameworks to ensure lawful transfer and adequate protection of the data.
By using our Site and providing information to us, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States and other countries as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We will handle that information as described here, regardless of the laws in the jurisdiction to which it is transferred. If you do not want your information transferred to other countries (including the U.S.), please do not use our Site or services.
For individuals in the EU/EEA: We only collect and process your personal data when we have a legal basis to do so under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal bases depend on the context of the interaction: typically, it will be to fulfill a contract (e.g., processing your order), with your consent (e.g., sending marketing emails if you opted in), or our legitimate interests (e.g., improving our services, preventing fraud) – and in all cases, balanced against your data protection rights and freedoms. You have certain rights (see next section) in relation to your data, and EU individuals also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority if they believe we have not complied with applicable privacy laws.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, whether you are located in the United States, European Union, California, etc.), you may have certain legal rights with respect to your personal information. We strive to honor all applicable requests in accordance with the relevant laws. These rights may include:
- Access and Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to obtain it in a readily usable format. This allows you to verify the information and even transfer it to another service if needed. (For example, EU and some U.S. state laws grant a right to access; California consumers have the right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information a business has collected about them.)
- Correction (Rectification): If any of your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct or update it. You can also do this by logging into your account settings (for things like your name, email, or addresses) or by contacting us for assistance.
- Deletion (Erasure): You can request that we delete your personal data. Please note: This right is not absolute. We may need to retain certain information for legal reasons (e.g., for tax records, or if we have an ongoing business relationship or a legal obligation). However, upon request, we will remove what information we can from our active systems and place the rest behind appropriate restrictions if full deletion isn’t feasible. For instance, if you ask to delete your account and order history, we will anonymize or erase personal identifiers associated with past transactions, except where we must retain records for legitimate business or legal purposes. If you simply wish to unsubscribe from marketing emails, you do not need to request full deletion – you can click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email or adjust your preferences, and we will cease marketing communications.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: As discussed, we only send marketing communications with your consent. If you have opted in and later change your mind, you have the right to opt out at any time. Every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link. You may also contact us directly to be removed from our marketing list. We will process such requests promptly.
- Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of Data: We do not sell personal information. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) provides the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Since we do not sell or share data for cross-context behavioral advertising, this is not applicable; however, if that policy ever changes, we will update this section and provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our Site as required by law. California residents can also opt out of certain tracking by enabling a recognized opt-out preference signal (like the Global Privacy Control in some browsers) and we will honor it as per CPRA requirements.
- Non-Discrimination: If you exercise any of your privacy rights (such as requesting deletion or opting out of sale), we will not discriminate against you. This means we will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service solely because you exercised your rights under privacy laws.
- Additional EU/EEA Rights: If you are in the EU/EEA, you have some additional rights under GDPR: the right to object to certain processing (for example, you can object to direct marketing or to processing based on legitimate interests), the right to request restriction of processing (for example, while we verify some data in dispute), and the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (we do not engage in profiling or automated decisions that produce legal effects on you). If we ever rely on consent to process your data, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time (with effect going forward).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact information provided at the end of this policy. Please specify in your request which right you seek to exercise and provide us with enough information to locate your records (e.g., the email associated with your account or order). For your security, we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests (for example, by asking you to confirm information we already have on file, or using other verification procedures). We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law (for instance, generally within 30 days for EU requests, and for CCPA, within 45 days with possible extension of an additional 45 days).
Keep in mind that these rights are subject to certain limitations under the law. For example, if fulfilling your deletion request would conflict with a legal obligation, we might deny the request but will explain the reason. We will, however, honor all valid rights requests to the extent required by law.
If you have any questions about your rights or how to exercise them, you can always contact us and we’ll guide you.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not provide any personal information on this Site. We ask that minors (under 18) use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our records. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can investigate and delete any such data.
For teens between 13 and 18: As noted, we do not restrict site usage by a minimum age aside from the COPPA under-13 rule. However, if you are under 18, you should review this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use with a parent or guardian to ensure you understand them. We also generally do not market any adult-only content; our products (e.g., t-shirts, accessories) are appropriate for general audiences.
10. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Effective Date” at the top. If changes are significant, we may also notify you by email (if we have your email from an account or order) or by prominently posting a notice on our Site.
Any changes will become effective when posted, unless indicated otherwise. Your continued use of our Site after we post an updated Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the changes and agreement to abide by the updated policy. If you do not agree with any update, you should stop using the Site and you may request that we remove your personal information as per your rights described above.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
